| [26 Feb 08] Raul attended the Winter College on Micro and Nano Photonics for Life Sciences at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) at Trieste, Italy.
The main topics
of the college this year included, nonlinear techniques (CARS,
STED, SERS, etc.), optics of and with nanoparticles, near field
techniques, and optical micro-manipulation (structured light,
tweezers). This opportunity that Raul had was of great value not
only for his career, but also for our local group in Monterrey,
Mexico, since it opens possibilities for research collaborations
with other institutions, and also motivates our efforts to look
for different strategies for the improvement of Science in Mexico
and Latin America.
