Welcome to the home page of the Photonics and Mathematical Optics Group of the Tecnológico de Monterrey, headed by Prof. Julio C. Gutiérrez-Vega.
Our group is part of the Optics Center and the Physics Department of the Tecnológico de Monterrey, México.
The main areas of research of the Photonics and Mathematical Optics Group cover the fields of classical optical beams and propagation, including Bessel, Mathieu and parabolic nondiffracting beams, Ince-Gaussian beams, propagation of spatial solitons in local and non-local media, as well as numerical methods of special functions, complex source theory, and laser resonators.
Our research is funded by Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACyT) Grants 82407, 179287 and 216947, and by Tecnológico de Monterrey Research Chair in Optics, Grant CAT141.
